The great thing about this video is that it contains the most thrilling parts of many memorable games, including clutch home runs by Joe Carter and Kirk Gibson. Great game-saving defensive plays are also featured, as well as game-losing defensive blunders (and that means you, Mr. Buckner). The narration is flat but sparse. My only complaint is that there are some obvious omissions like the Mets-Astros 1986 marathon playoff game or Luis Sojo's inside-the-park grand slam in the 1995 Mariners-Angels one-game playoff, just to name a couple examples. But this is still one of the best baseball highlight videos out there.

I love Shirley Maclaine movies. I enjoyed this movie very much. The DVD needed English subtitles though. Otherwise the DVD good. The story was OK! But who cares about the story, if it has Shirley in it.

I like this movie because I saw it with a great girlfriend when I was a teenager & it had great shots of Bo Derek - and snow skiing. Anthony Hopkins is a college professor who is having an affair with Bo Derek - and when Hopkins' wife, played by Shirley McLain finds out, she begins to have an affair of her own - which Hopkins has problems handling. It's an older film, but if you have some extra time, it's worth watching.

The movie was not as good as I remembered it, when I view it long ago.

I'd seen this at the cinema when it first came out. I was twelve & it brings back good memories. A cute comedy in which a middle-aged college professor, Adam Evans (Anthony Hopkins) has an affair with one of his students (Bo Derek). Shirley MacLaine portrays Hopkins wife who starts an affair of her own with a younger man. Thoroughly enjoyable film. A Change of Seasons is also presented in Widescreen format on this DVD, which is a bonus, as is the original theatrical trailer featured!

This picture opened in theaters on December 1 1980 starring Shirley MacLane as Karin Evans, Anthony Hopkins as Adam Evans and the young and gorgeous Bo Derek as Lindsay Rutledge. This movie was about Adam Evans who's a professor at the local college is over 40 years old and has had affairs with some of his students. Along comes Lindsay Rutledge who's one off Evans students and the one he's having an affair with now. One night at a friends house the subject of affair came between Adam, Karin and there friends. The subject didn't bother there friends but it bother Karin. So on there way home Karin asked Adam if he indeed was having an affair and he said yes. Adam and Karin have been married for some 21 years and to Karin that means something, but to Adam it really means nothing. Karin stayed home raised the children and kept his house clean and washed his clothes which in these times it hard to find a good woman that would do all those things. Adam is planning to take a trip to Montreal and Karin tells Adam she wants to go and he tells her not this time. Instead of taking Karin, Adam takes Lindsay instead. While Adam is in Montreal, Karin is home by herself when she hears noises coming from the kitchen. So she goes down to investigate and finds a strange man in her kitchen feeding birds a peanut butter sandwich. The young mans named is Pete and his there to build a book shelf for Adam Evans. When questioned by Karin, Pete pulls out a slip of paper to show Karin that work is for real. Karin said okay and tells Pete that she's going to bed and then she asks Pete if he wants to come along. When Adam comes back from Montreal and walks into his house it looks like a storm hit and that's not all he found. Does Adam go with Lindsay or is she just a fling? What else did Adam find in his house? What does Karin do to Adam if anything? I love this movie because it just goes to show you that men can be real ***holes. Adam had a great home life, a great job and a beautiful wife but that wasn't enough. He wants more and he got more and Adam got what he deserved. As far as Bo Derek, she was fantastic. The way she started the film by coming up out of that water was beautiful. The shower scene was even better and I especially liked her part in the ending. I no some people didn't give this movie very go rating, however despite there review I give this movie 10 weasel stars for Bo Derek acting and beauty.

For the price, this was a much better compilation of Baseball's great moments and bloopers than I expected. I got it for my son because it was cheap and I figured I couldn't go wrong. My grandson loves the Yankees and was thrilled when they won the series this year! This BD present was his "best of all", as he said! It came in time for his BD and he was so excited! He has watched it several times! I am so excited to have chosen the perfect gift! Thank you.

Video was purchased for a gift for my baseball crazy son-in-law. It arrived promptly and I think it was a great value. I wouldn't hesitate to order from Amazon again.

MLB did a good job compiling important events and interviews to record the Yankee 2009 run. It is something to keep (unless you are a Yankee enemy). However, I wish it has more footage of the ALDS and ALCS. I have ordered the past world series video such as Boston and Whitesox years. But they all share the same shortcoming. Often there are as critical moments in ALDS/ALCS than those in world series. Yankee vs. Angel games in 2008 for example was as memorable as any world series. But there isn't any coverage. This 2009 video has the same problem.

I purchase this video for my son for Christmas. He was very happy to receive it. I'm not sure if he's watched it yet. But being a real Yankee fan, I'm sure there can't be anything wrong with it.

This is a well made, awe-inspiring video to watch again and again to get your Yankee fix. Great details and emotional scenes. You will relive the season with pride. Bought it for a friend, and after seeing it, had to get one for ourselves.

2009 New York Yankees: The Official World Series Film [Blu-ray] 2009 New York Yankees: The Official World Series Film [Blu-ray]

Reviews

As a die hard Yankee fan, it is almost inconceivable that everyone does not have this video. It takes you through a wonderful season and through the victory parade. Beautiful quality in the film, brings you right to the field and then on to the street. Hope I will be buying another one after the 2010 season!!!!

I was very excited about this dvd- and when it came in the mail- i watched it right away...the dvd was pretty good..but i was expecting alittle more detailed dvd...it is a quick overview of the season, and then goes into the playoffs...the dvd is made very well- and its very enjoyable to watch. I would recommend it to everyone that wants a good overview of the season and to watch the yankees go for #27.

this disc is wonderfully presented in high definition recapping the year which culminated in the 27th championship title for the New York Yankees. It's in bluray so it has all of what you would expect that sort of disc to have. Watched it a few times. If you are a Yankee fan, and have a bluray player, you should buy it.

I watched the entire bluray last night and I have to say that if you are a true diehard Yankee fan, this bluray is a must-have. This is basically a 1-hour 25-minute film documenting the New York Yankees' 2009 World Series win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Here's how the film breaks down... The first 20 minutes or so documents the Yankees' regular season as they attempt to capture their 27th World Championship. They also have a brief section showing the Philadelphia Phillies and their attempt to defend their World Series crown. But this bluray is really all about the World Series battle between these two great teams. The rest of the film documents every World Series game along with the key moments from each game. Cliff Lee's game 1 gem and Chase Utley's domination over CC Sabathia... Pedro Martinez's return to Yankee Stadium and AJ Burnett's dominance in game 2... The Yankees fighting back from a 3-0 deficit to win game 3... Johnny Damon's at-bat and subsequent double-steal as well as Brad Lidge's meltdown in game 4... Chase Utley once again doing his best Reggie Jackson impersonation in game 5... And finally, Andy Pettitte (who else?) clinching the game 6 winner... If you are a true Yankee fan and you don't like this film, then something is wrong. There is also 30 minutes worth of bonus features that show key moments for the Yankees during their playoff run. A-Rod's game-tying homerun off Joe Nathan during the 9th inning in game 2 of the ALDS... Mark Teixeira's walk-off homerun during the same game... A-Rod's game-tying homerun off Brian Fuentes in the ALCS... A-Rod's homerun off Cole Hamels in game 3 of the World Series... Matsui's 2-run single/double/homerun in the game 6 World Series clincher... It even has the entire final 3 outs of the 9th inning as it was shown on national television. One thing to note about the bonus clips... with the exception of the final 3 outs of the World Series as well as Johnny Damon's at-bat against Brad Lidge (there may be one more that I'm forgetting about), there is NO television commentary in any of the clips. For example, with A-Rod's homerun off Joe Nathan in the ALDS, they show the homerun from multiple camera angles (as they do with most of the other clips), but that's it. There is no television commentary at all. The only thing you hear is the sweet sound of the bat as it makes contact with the baseball and the crowd going nuts. Some people will like this, others will not. I personally didn't have a problem with it although sometimes I do like to hear it when the announcers go crazy. Conclusion... As I mentioned before, if you are a true diehard Yankee fan, go out and buy this now.

This is a great overview of the playoffs and World Series. It includes all the action and excitement interspaced with interviews and comments by the manager and players. The action as filmed by major league baseball is outstanding and the blu-ray is crystal clear, giving you all you the key plays and strategies without the annoying talking heads of the sport shows. The extras are interesting in that they show key plays and events from different camera angles without commentary, except when they replay the last inning of the final game in its entirety. Also it is in widescreen, not the narrow screen that the specs indicate, which is a bonus. Again if you are a baseball or especially a Yankee fan, you will enjoy this blu-ray !

The New York Yankees 2009 World Series Collector's Edition The New York Yankees 2009 World Series Collector's Edition

Reviews

The Yankees: either you love them or you hate them. If the latter then you're pretty much bound to be disappointed more often than not because as popular sports journalism puts it, they're the "winningest" team of all time. If you happen to be among the many Yankee fans out there, then there's a whole new layer of categorization to go through. Do you go to every game? Are you the type who pays extra for that full cable sports package so you never miss a game? Did you host parties for your friends to come over, have a brew and watch New York's finest pound the other teams into mere footnotes of 2009's MLB season? Then delight in the DVD release of the entire 2009 World Series wherein the Yankees lay waste to the Phillies. All six games (each on their own disc) plus the last game of the ALC Championship series against the Angels (also on its own disc) make the set a formidable block of sports viewing for anyone so inclined to relive those moments. The series started off with a bad omen. 6 to 1 in the Phillies' favor really makes the first game a less than stellar start. In fact the first game really isn't good baseball at all from the perspective of a Yankee fan - or anyone for that matter, no offense intended for Phillies fans. Nothing seems to go right for the pinstriped boys, but luckily it was in no way indicative of how the remaining five games would play out. Game 2 definitely has more nail biting suspense, but it's not until you get to the final four games that the two teams really tear away at each other. Games 3, 4 and 5 may be the best in the set. Some of the best plays are found here and overall they're each solid displays of why baseball is the American pastime. The Phillies put forth a good effort, but ultimately decisive runs by the likes of MVP Hideki Matsui and fellow teammates Jeter, Pettitte, Rivera and Damon proved to be too much. There's enough in these three games to make up for the rather dull happenings of the preceding two that the five games round out to an above average sporting experience. The sixth game however doesn't have much suspense at all. The Yankees take the lead and never really seem in any danger of giving it up. You might be buying the set for the memories, but when it comes down to really rewatching the series all the way through, you might want to do yourself a favor and just watch 3, 4, 5 and the last 10 minutes of the final game - just so you can watch and silently (or not silently) cheer as the players rush the field in that frenzied joy that only championship athletes ever really exhibit. To be fair, nothing really makes this set special. It's their 27th World Series win and if ever there was an undertone of "Yes, we're in the World Series, blah blah blah" it's here and it's coming from the Yankees. In contrast, the Phillies seem genuinely excited. That's the drawback of being the winningest team of all time, getting to that final stretch starts to lose the luster it has for the teams who get there only once in a rare while. The real set that makes sense for a special DVD release would be the ALC series the Yankees won in 2009 as it was their 40th, you know, a round number that carries some sort of celebrative occasion. But 27? Congratulations, sure, but even as a fan it's hard to get too excited. DVD Bonus Features Besides a healthy helping of World Series and seasonal stats on the 2009 Yankees team the set features a rather interesting collection of interchangeable audio commentaries from the likes of various sports radio teams like FOX Sports, ESPN, Yankees Radio and Phillies Radio. The best two, if you're looking for a new way to watch the World Series games, are the Yankees and Phillies Radio audio tracks. Switch between the two numerous times through the course of one game and take delight in how the tones of the commentators change as the events of a game take a turn in their respective team's favor. It's pretty fun to listen to. Otherwise, the bonus disc features a cavalcade of highlight reels from the normal and postseason games as well as player interviews and the final trophy presentation. The set's pretty complete for the diehard Yankees fan. For the average Joe who watches Yankee games when he remembers, however, the set offers nothing to entice a purchase.

This is a must for any Yankees fan, but MLB is lazy on this video set. The radio broadcast and the convenience of having all the games together is the only value for me, but he production is sub-par, with unusually long lapses of audio as noted in other reviews. After owning the former versions of Yankees World Series victories, I was looking forward to one of the DVDs (bonus DVD?) possibly having a story build up with fan reactions, ...not so. MLB essentially took stock video footage and audio and mushed them together.

The specs listed on Amazon's site, as well as every review I've read state this collection is Full Screen. Much to my surprise and joy, the set I received from Amazon is in fact 1:78 Widescreen!! Either people have their equipment set up incorrectly, or I got a rare pressing. I have uploaded captures using Power DVD into the customer images section of this product to confirm my set is indeed 1:78 widescreen.

For an avid fan who loves to see every game plus additional footage, this is the product.

I'm just getting through this set, but here are my initial impressions. The Good: 1) It is great to have all the World Series games in their entirety. My 11 year old is a big fan, but wasn't able to watch all of the games live. 2) The ability to switch between the Fox broadcasters and the Yankee radio broadcasters is a nice touch. The So, So: 1) Video quality and sound quality are acceptable, but not great. 2) The Yankee radio broadcast doesn't quite match up with the video, and there are some dead spots. As an axample: after the last call of the game 6 ALDS win the audio goes silent during the celebration on the field. You hear "The Yankees win" and then silence while the on-field celebration is going on. 3) On the bonus disc, you can only play all off the main menu. If you go to the Milestones section, you can't play all of the clips. You can only go through them one by one. The Bad: 1) Why isn't this available on Blu-ray? 2) The lack of a recap of the 2009 season, or the playoffs is inexcusable. 3) Why isn't this available on Blu-ray? In conclusion a good set for the Yankees fan wanting all of the World Series games in their entirety. [...]

We has tried the Derek Jeter cologne from an Avon awhile back and had really liked the scent of it so I had decided to get it as another one of Shawn's Christmas Gifts. He was so excited to receive it and apparently wanted it a bit more than he had let on. Honestly the Avon sample didn't really do it any justice because it smells so much better from the bottle. This is a cologne that we will continue to purchase and buy from Amazon because they are priced much lower than retailers for this product

This is an awesome product. I absolutely love it. I bought 2 bottles of this for my husband and he loves the stuff. People are always commenting on what a good smell it is. We will definitely be back to purchase from this seller again. The transaction was very quick and convenient too. I would recommend this product to anyone that enjoys a good smell.

My daughter likes it and doesn't complain about it. So, good a younger nose likes it. My wife could care less, but I do get good compliments

Derek Jeter Hurricane Batting Trainer Derek Jeter Hurricane Batting Trainer

Reviews

The device works well, but the contact point on this unit is made out of hard plastic. Each contact makes a very loud ping. My daughter and I literally wear hearing protection when working with it. This is annoying, but my main concern is that thin-walled high performance bats could be damaged by this unit. Indeed there is a warning label on the stick that reads "use only with practice bat." Because different bats swing differently I would prefer a unit that could be used with the game day bat.

We bought this item as a Christmas gift for our daughters. Shipping was free and the unit arrived quickly. Set up was a breeze. The machine is well designed and went together without any tools needed. Our daughters use it in the basement. It tends to move a bit from their hitting so a bag of sand on each of two legs took care of that issue. The girls like it and use it regularly. One recommendation would be to offer an instructional batting video to go along with the machine. We highly recommend this batting machine for its price and ease of assembly. It is too soon to talk about durability, but this machine looks as if it will be able to stand up to hours of use it is now getting.

The trainer works great. Gives my 12 year old grandson a lot of cuts that he was not getting before. I think it needs a DVD although to correct swing issues. Jeter could do a 15 minute training on how to swing, how to pick up the ball faster, etc. I think that would be a great addition to this tool.

The only thing that stopped my son from practicing on this all day the first day he got it was the blister that developed on his hand after the first couple of hours of hitting. Obviously, he loved it out of the box, and he still loves it. The Hurricane was very easy to assemble. It's very sturdy, and comes with stakes that you plunk right into the grass to help hold it down while used in the yard. A couple bags of sand hold it down when he uses it in the garage on rainy days. I love that he gets immediate feedback on his swing from the reaction of the trainer, and I love that my arm gets a rest from pitching to him. This a wonderful product.

I bought this product used from someone who has two teenage sons in little league. While i can't verify how much they used it, from the looks of the batting head, it looks like they gave it a pretty good beating. I've had it myself for over a week now, and I've put it through my own personal torture test (i'm 26 and i'm going for the fences here on every swing), and it's held up remarkably well. I initially had complaints with the fact that the power bands do get snagged on one of the knobs occasionally (as resonated in some of the other reviews here), but I figured out that you can eliminate that problem just by having the knob fact the same direction as the batting head, so i guess now I don't have any complaints anymore. Great machine!

A part of the baseball broke after the first hit, the string broke after 3 batters. I should have been suspicious seeing the spare set of strings. Definitely not for adults, may last 5 kids.

The zip n hit is perhaps one of the worst examples of a gimick that I have ever seen. It is marketed toward gullible parents and bad little league coaches (of which there are many). If you are serious about teaching your child how to hit you should approach your local high school or college coach. There is too much misinformation out there. Also, dont waste your time at batting cages or "hitting instructors" who force you to pay for 12 weeks worth of lessons. Half of these guys know just enough to sound intelligent to desperate parents. Get out with your kid, throw soft toss, bp, work out in the off season, make it fun but work nevertheless. Learn what a "load" and a "power c" are and you are halfway there. Again dont buy this piece of trash!!!

Zip n hit is a great product! Every summer my ten year old sons hitting gets messed up. He is a good baseball hitter but summer camp underhand softball, nintendo wii and tennis racket baseball really have adverse affects on his "eye" It takes a lot of work to correct his hitting. I saw a coach using a zip n hit pro with his son and it got my attention so I purchased one.I own alot of baseball training equipment and in no time this simple device got my sons hitting back!! You can concentrate on consistent location and speed. The zip n hit is fun and you can do some silly things with it to make practice more interesting. Kids have a blast. My only complaint is the the strings do not last very long but you can purchase extras.

The team my 9-year-old boy is on uses these in practice and will even take some swings on them during the games. His coach also uses them with his 13 year olds team. Not saying the zip and hit is the reason why, but my boy's team has only lost 1 game in over 3 years of baseball, including fall ball. So it's not a bad team, and they use it quite extensively. At home we have the Hit-Away baseball mounted to a pole and it works great. But, I can't really take it with us. So, we picked up the zip and hit. Now, when the wife goes in the grocery store, we park far enough out for me and the boy to attach it to the back of the vehicle and take some swings in the parking lot. When we go to a Red's game or a Florence Freedom game, it's a big hit in the parking lot there as well. I coach 3 soccer teams year round and the boy and me can squeeze some hitting in between games. So just for the portability alone, this thing gets 5 stars in my book. Also, about the review stating his kid now swings over the ball because it doesn't drop like real pitches would. You can make it drop using several different techniques that are described in the directions that come with it. After you get his confidence back up, you might be able to give it another try.

I bought this for my son when he was 9 years old. We attach it to the baseketball hoop and go to town! It REALLY helps warm up the swing and hand/eye coordination. The cord can fray pretty easily, we replaced ours after about a year. Comes with a second cord though. I can't pitch to save my life so this was a huge help to me. And I didn't have to run after the ball when it was hit. This also helped my son from dropping his back shoulder too much. If he swings below the string he knows he's dropped his shoulder. The only thing I don't like... You really have to hold the string TIGHT so that your knuckles don't get smacked with the ball. That's a little bit of a problem for my little ones to use it together.

I bought this for my 11-year-old godson who loves baseball. He was able to set it up himself easily. He quickly learned that the ball returns best when he hits it properly. He pronounced it "awesome." This one's a winner.

I was wanting the three-legged hit-away post but couldn't find one as cheap as the water-fill base pole but I'm not disappointed at all. A great product that is very sturdy and resilient. It could be easier to roll but that is a minor complaint compared to how good the pole is.
