i loved this movie and when i remembered it cuz sometimes i remember moveis and bits and pieces and never the actual names of movies i went straight to looking for it on dvd and low and behold never found it looked everywhere i could think of to find this if we all put out a petition to have it on dvd you think they would do it? eather way i liked this movie alot each actor played totally different characters then their used to and streatched their acting abilitys to the fullest i recomend you see this movie

I love any movie Corey Haim is in. as well as The Lost Boys. but unfortunately, they dont make movies like this anymore.

I remember watching this movie on cable TV back in the 80's many times. It brings me back watching it again. Peter Weller does a great job in this movie. A+

I was amazed at how great the tape played and the condition of the box it came in. I loved the movie! The ordering and delivery was absolutely hassle-free. Thanks!

This movie is one of my favorites of all time!! Great story and plot, makes this a suspense-drama for any fan of the movie!! I'm tired of the VHS version that I own... It's time for a DVD release!!!!! Please release it on DVD!!!!

The '60s [VHS] The '60s [VHS]

Reviews

This item came exactly as described and shipped super fast. I'd recommend this seller and would do business with them again.

This was a great video, especially if you lived through the 60s or are interested in this unique decade. This was a decade of social change that the country had never seen before or will see again.

I ordered this item over a month ago and have yet to recieve it. I contacted both the seller and amazon yet still to hear back. Poor customer service

I saw this movie on TV several years ago and searched and searched for it before finding it here. I think I paid $12.00 for it. I bought one for my mother last year and paid $60.00. I think the movie is totally worth the price. It'sone of my favorite movies I have seen. I have loaned it to several people who agree with me. I doubt, since it was a made for TV movie that it is in 'bargan bins', if it was I would buy them all for fear of mine getting scratched and destroyed! I think this movie is a must see for middle school aged kids-it's a lesson, sad at times, but that is how our country was! I think it can brings an awareness and show how far many of us have come!

I was impressed with the 70s so I rented this DVD and was sadly disappointed. Apparently, the producers thought Bob Dylan was the only musical influence of that time...not to mention hearing him constantly throughout the movie was beyond annoying. On TV this was four hours long (with commercials) but it just seemed to skim the surface of everything. This had the potential of being something really great but it's just as if they took the actors, threw them in 60s clothes, and threw in some archive footage with a sorry excuse for a story line.

Average Rating:

Tackling an entire decade--and a turbulent one at that--within a three-hour movie is a challenge, and while The '60s is frequently entertaining, it unfortunately is not completely up to the task. The movie follows the lives of four young people, three from a white suburban family with parents out of The Wonder Years and one African American from the South...

Lawrenceville Stories Mini Series [VHS] Lawrenceville Stories Mini Series [VHS]

Reviews

I saw this mini series years and years ago and it has always had a special place in my heart. Based on the amazing writings of Owen Johnson, this film is entertaining, funny, witty and loads of fun! I recommend it for the entire family!

Starring Zach Galligan of "Gremlins" and "Waxworks" fame, "The Lawrenceville Stories" are an innocent and impish foray into the friendships and rivalries of silver-tongued "Hickey" Hicks (Galligan), entrepreneur Doc Macnooder (Albert Schultz), and the sly Tennessee Shad (Nicholas Rowe). Set in a turn-of-the-century boarding school, these American Playhouse adaptations of Owen Johnson's "The Prodigious Hickey" and "The Tennessee Shad" are gently funny programmes suitable for the whole family. Movies which do books justice are few and far between, but when you have such fine actors in roles replete with witty dialogue and good-natured pranks, it's easy to overlook a plot change or two... Well worth the purchase if you're a fan of PBS programming.

This 3 part mini-series is about students at the Lawrenceville School. As a former student there, i found the film most interesting. Unfortunately, it is a way more innocent version of my high school experience. It is still entertaining. The antics of Hickey, Doc McNooter and Tennessee Shad are quite fun while the Headmaster fights to keep it all together. An enjoyable 3 hours.

Bourne Identity (Single-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo) Bourne Identity (Single-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

Reviews

Because after this one, the director decided to fire his DP and employ a Home Depot paint can shaker to film the next other two films. A commentator also thought the director decided to film the fights in ONE SECOND cuts to create "exicitment". Back on topic: This is a decent movie. Not a great one. Just decent. I liked it on the Blu, but the DvD wasn't too bad either.

I was a little hesitant before I made my purchase, but I needn't have been. This Blu-ray/DVD Combo disc works perfectly fine on my SONY BDP-S550. Picture quality is great, as is the audio. I wont go into the details of the disc contents, since others already have done so, but this Combo release from Universal comes highly recommended from me. Essential purchase.

I bought all three Bourne Blu-ray/DVD combo movies. All three of them play very well on my Blu-ray player. The picture and sound are fantastic. I cannot find any flaws or problems, and I am so happy to be able to get affordable Bourne Blu-ray movies.

I'll be the first to admit that this review is less to do with these specific Bourne movies and more related to the Blu Ray conversion however I feel that one needs to understand the issues with these discs before addressing the movies themselves. Let me cut to the chase, do NOT buy these discs! They will frustrate and annoy you every time you attempt to watch them, allow me to explain. I have a Samsung Blu Ray player with updated firmware (don't get me started on that process) connected via HDMI cable to Samsung LCDTV, generally Blu Ray discs work fine on this set up, there are occasions when on other discs the movies will pause for a brief second and then continue however these Bourne movies were impossible to watch. To begin with they seem to feature their own unique controls meaning that trying to scan forward or backward would cause the disc to lock and seemingly stall, never did get the movie to scan properly. Then there were the issues with the movie in general, the picture repeatedly froze, in car chases and in Chapter 11 (and multiple points thereafter) while they are sitting talking in the car, the sound was then out of synch with the picture and more freezing and stalling, it was so bad that I ejected the discs and watched the old DVD versions of the movies. Utterly unacceptable, beyond annoying! As for the movies themselves, what this experiment did show the dramatic improvement of the Blu Ray versions, the picture was much crisper, the colors richer and more saturated and certainly less noise in the picture, also the sounds was much better, more full and dynamic, too bad that the technology rendered the discs unwatchable. The irony is that I had "upgraded" from an HDDVD when that format lost out and I had this movie on HD, there were NO problems, same outstanding picture and the player had none of the issues that I attribute to Blu Ray. For whatever reason I believe that Blu Ray is simply not ready yet, too many glitches, I don't want to have to constantly monitor my firmware to watch a movie! That same kind of updating madness is what got me to migrate from a Windows PC to a Mac! The bottom line is this, the movies are fantastic! Honestly one of my favorite trilogies and WHEN the disc is working the picture and sound really are phenomenal, the problem is in the "when", it is frustrating and unacceptable to deal with these glitches, yes, the movies are being returned to Amazon and a formal letter of complaint is being registered with Universal Home Entertainment. My advice to you, skip these for now or at the very least try to hunt down the regular Blu Ray versions, not these dual discs and save yourself the frustration.

I was a little disappointed that this is a flipper disc. I would have been happier if it was just a Blu-ray with the cover art. I have the standard dvds and wanted blu-ray. The audio is outstanding on my HT. Great price so I can live with it.

The Bourne Identity (Widescreen Extended Edition) The Bourne Identity (Widescreen Extended Edition)

Reviews

Matt Damon really comes of age with The Bourne Identity. A James Bond on Steroids like character that seems to have made the Bond series get more intense with the likes of Daniel Craig as Bond. There is definate passionate action here. We see a man who is washed out at sea, with amnesia, wondering who he is and why. Quickly he has an identity, yet too many in the form of multiple passports, and tons of cash, when he goes to a bank vault in Switzerland, that is the only form of information he has on him when he is rescued. Things go from the darkness of not knowing who you are to a mad rush to escape seeming capture. Not only that, he has all these amazing skills, martial arts, technical skills, ability to size up things where ever he goes. What does it all mean? Additionally, as he escapes from one place where armed US Marines are chasing him, he happens along a young woman who is actually a drifter with no real place to go. He has money, identification, but who is he, and he has an address, lets go there. We flash back and forth from Bourne on the run and CIA headquarters, where his handlers are wondering where he had been for weeks, now he is run amok. Although a very violent movie from the perspective of fighting and shootings, the movie is simply not bloody or full of gore. So, you can focus on the action and story, not the gore. Clive Owen plays a very serious focused asset of the CIA. He is like Bourne, trained to kill. He says very few words, and comes across as rather intense. Franka Potente does a great job of his unwitting accomplice who gets more and more afraid, yet intrigued as she finds herself a part of international intrigue. Damon, having played in a variety of less action type roles, really pulls off this one. He still looks like a kid, yet his acting overrides his youthful look. The DVD has some great extras, you are taken behind the scenes with interviews of the actors as they do each part of the movie. More Bourne to come of course as this eventually works its way into a trilogy.

I am a big fan of this series. Matt Damon is perfect as the "broken" assasin who is trying to find out his real identity after he short-circuits after a botched assasination attempt. I won't bother with a full review of the movie but the action sequences are captivating while Damon's portrayal of Jason Bourne is very believable.

i was wanting to buy this dvd at walmart, but then i though, hey... maybe amazon has it so i checked on here and they had a HD dvd version for about a 10th of the price, so i went for it, and i wasn't disappointed! the picture is amazing, and the sound is flawless (using Logitech Z5500 5.1 system via optical connection)! will definately be buying more HD DVD's in the future.

A fine bit of spy-thriller and skillful action movie. This action thriller keeps you on the edge of your seat through the whole movie. It has some of the most awesome chase scenes. Matt Damon gives a believable depth to the Bourne character.

Shipment was timely. The product was in top shape and the process all around was a "gold standard" process. Thank you! Lynne Simpson

Freely adapted from Robert Ludlum's 1980 bestseller, The Bourne Identity starts fast and never slows down. The twisting plot revs up in Zurich, where amnesiac CIA assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), with no memory of his name, profession, or recent activities, recruits a penniless German traveler (Run Lola Run's Franka Potente) to assist in solving the puzzle of his missing identity...

I haven't read this book yet because I have four different students sharing it. That must mean it's a good one!

It is a good book, great story. I'd like to see it made into a movie.

Product is in excellent condition. Thanks, Amazon this book made a great gift for my brother.

Very uplifting story of strength and will. Josh has such a feel good story. Let's hope he stays true to the Lord and resists his demons.

Amazing book. You do not even have to know the first thing about baseball to truely enjoy this book. This book is so much more than baseball and can be read by anyone. I've never been so inspired and touched by a story.

Josh Hamilton was the first player chosen in the first round of the 1999 baseball draft. He was destined to be one of those rare "high-character " superstars. But in 2001, working his way from the minors to the majors, all of the plans for Josh went off the rails in a moment of weakness...

Lando (Louis L'Amour) Lando (Louis L'Amour)

Reviews

The book was shipped on time and the condition as described. I would gladly use this seller again in the future.

This is a story of gold, prison, boxing, and a racing mule. Young Lando, a Clinch Mountain Sackett, sets out from Tennessee to find his father who went looking for hidden gold in Mexico and has been missing for years. Along the way, he meets up with a gypsy "tinker" and the two head for Texas and adventures follow. He is betrayed and ends up in a brutal Mexican prison, but escapes to get revenge. This is a good story that will keep you turning the pages (and you will find out where the racing mule comes into the story).

This book was first issued as a Bantam paperback in December, 1962, having Orlando Sackett as the narrator. The time period circa 1873-1875 was assigned by Louis L'Amour in his Sackett Companion, and that places the book as #8 in the Sackett family series. This is essentially a fictional story concerning Orlando Sackett, narrated by him, as he leaves the mountains of Tennessee, the Sackett historical homeland, unless you are like Parmalee Sackett, a flatland Sackett. Falcon Sackett, Orlando's father, settled in Tennessee after marrying Orlando's mother to be, Aleyne Kurbishaw. As Orlando leaves the mountains the Tinker (Cosmo Lengro) is his companion, one who says little, but knows much. During the ensuing years of mule raising and racing, bare knuckle fighting, Mexican incarceration, and gold chasing, the Tinker and his wonderfully made knives will be Orlando's guide and companion. I'm not going to give you more of the plot, for those are not the reviews I give, and most other reviews here will offer adequate background as to the plot. What I will offer is what none of these other reviews knew or offer: there are many details within this deceptively simple novel of the west that are all true. This is a novel from Louis that is a veritable treasure trove of facts. For instance, the details of what a tinker was, his life and travels, is all true of the times. Jem Mace is mentioned as an English prizefighter of the time, and that is also true: he fought from 1855 through 1864, today classed as a welterweight. The gunfighters of the story: Cullen Baker, Bill Longley and Bob Lee are true characters drawn from this time and place. Governor Edmund Jackson Davis was a real reconstruction governor for the state of Texas, and during his time in office an unknown man, L. H. McNelly, who later became a legend in the Texas Rangers, was part of the governor's police force. Juan Cortina, born in Mexico on May 16, 1824, dying in 1894, also existed. The Bald Knobbers were an actual group of vigilantes around Forsyth, Missouri, who were later disbanded by force, some members being hung, due to their ruffian activities. The cities of Beeville from the 1830s and Oakville, a lawless city Captain McNelly later cleaned up, also existed, and still did at the time of Louis' novel. Finally the Henry Rifle is known to all western readers as a gun appearing during the American Civil War, eventually leading the way to developing the later and famous 1873 Winchester repeating rifles of the frontier. These are just some of the facts and historical notes tucked within this novel, there are more. But these will suffice. I have all of Louis L'Amour's books in hardcover, and generally enjoy all of them. When I first encountered this one, however, I did not think much of it. But upon discovering the facts that lay behind it and tucked into it, I became more and more interested. If you want an enjoyable western from Louis, though certainly not in the category of Hondo or Shalako let's say, but still a very interesting read, don't be shy of reading this one. It can be digested in only a few hours, but the facts will add to your western understanding. Semper Fi.

I was reading over some of these reviews and saw that some readers had given Lando a luke warm rating. Had to put in my own two cents. I thought Lando was flat out terrific! This character is a bit different than many of Louis L'Amour's main men, and I liked the differences. Lando is full of action and the fist fighting scenes are top notch.... the best. I've read perhaps a hundred of L'Amour's books; have enjoyed all of them, some more so than others, but Lando is a winner. Darn good read.

Though I'm relatively new to Westerns, and started with L'Amour, I've now read some Elmore Leonard and some Elmer Kelton and have come up with a few opinions. L'Amour is a solid three-star writer, and Lando is a very good example. This is praise, not criticism; there's too much "star inflation" anyway-- folks tend to come off of a book they've enjoyed and think it's the greatest ever. Lando has a good sidekick in the Gypsy "secret agent". That is, he knows about the hidden gold and Lando's dad, and maneuvers Lando out of the Virginia mountains out West. It's a good "search for hidden gold" Western, with two main failings in my view: Lando's dad turns up alive in a rather coincidental fashion, and (perhaps the biggest defect in the book) the years in a Mexican jail that toughen Lando are glossed over in a couple of pages. This might work if the jail stay was a few months, but not where 6 or 8 years are involved! A good read, with the stregths and shortcomings of L'Amour represented. If you are somewhat new to Westerns, read a few L'Amours, but then turn to Leonard, Kelton, and others.

Average Rating:

One of the great sagas of our time, the chronicle of the Sackett family is perhaps the crowning achievement of one of our greatest storytellers. In Lando, Louis L'Amour has created an unforgettable portrait of a unique hero...

Riding the Bullet Riding the Bullet

Reviews

On March 14, 2000, shortly after his nearly fatal accident, King published Riding the Bullet as an e-book, exclusively, as his introduction to electronic publishing. Simon and Schuster worked with Softlock offering the 67-page novella for $2.50, payable by credit card. On the first day the demand for download was so high that Softlock suffered a lockup, preventing eager readers from accessing Riding the Bullet for a few days. Loyal King readers complained that availability was limited to those with credit cards, e-readers, and pcs. Mac owners couldn't download the book. Barnes and Noble and Amazon offered the download for free. In 2002 Riding the Bullet was published as one of 14 short stories in Everything's Eventual. In 2004 a movie version was released.

I wonder how many still have their old free downloads from back around 2000. I had the book for awhile along with a few others bought at Amazon, and where are they now? All gone... The DRM will never allow a book to be a book or an ebook buyer to be independent. That is why I will think twice before throwing any money at a DRM ebook. I liked Riding the Bullet much like I liked Apt Pupil.

A look into a young man's darker places in his soul. More info would spoil. Enjoyed the ride...and didn't.

Myself and my son listened to this story on a long drive. It scared him. He was looking for random people on the side of the road the rest of the trip. I loved the story. Its a true King tale.

Im not much into writing reviews but this one i had to.. This is the best audiobook i have ever heard.. hands down and i listen to alot of em... this is amazing.. creepy... heart wenching and powerful
