The Man From U.N.C.L.E.ReviewsThis is a 5 out of 5 quality CD. The music took me back to my childhood when I would watch the Man From Uncle on TV. Shipping was fast and the CD was in excellent condition. I will shop with this seller again. I don't think I can add much more to the praise, but here goes. The three 2-disc collections (along with a 4th single disc) are a must for any lover of The Man From UNCLE, TV spy shows, or television in general. As other reviewers have noted, there have been many, many, previous incarnations of the UNCLE music. At last, the real deal! The music is fabulous and the liner notes and photos are great. Don't have regrets later. Pick up all 4 collections. Special thanks to Jon Burlingame for the work he put into these sets. And believe me, he put a lot of work and time into this project. I always wanted the music of this T.V. show, my all time favorite, and not, until now, I could enjoy again the thrills of this TV series. In chronological order you can listen to different themes of the four seasons this show lasted. Jerry Goldsmith, Lalo Schifrin, Gerald Fried and many other great composers, who gave their best to add excitement to this spies adventures show can be enjoyed here. A must for all the fans of the Man From UNCLE. I have wanted to have Jerry Goldsmith's original opening theme from The Man From U.N.C.L.E. for years. I was always disappointed by the other versions I was able to find. I am glad to have it at last. How gratifying it is to find TWO other enthusiastic reviews of this music! I will add just a couple of my own notes to those other writings. First, this is--finally--the original music from "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.". The CDs described here contain the various versions of the theme, as well as music composed for individual episodes, as it was recorded and used in those episodes. These are NOT cheesy re-recordings ("authorized" or not); they are the real thing, in great sound. Next, although this review appears in the listing for "Volume 1", there are three 2-CD volumes available, well-described by other reviewers, plus a fourth single-disc issue of music (again, authentic and original) from two theatrical "Man From U.N.C.L.E." movies, whose release illustrated the enthusiasm that existed for this show and its stars. The four "U.N.C.L.E" releases come from Film Score Monthly, nominally a magazine but in recent times also an outstanding CD imprint with a growing list of titles to stir a movie and television fanatic's heart. These FSM CD albums have been limited to 3,000 copies apiece, and presumably will not be re-issued. That makes time a factor in acquiring these titles. Anyone whose pulse rate increases reading these reviews should visit Film Score Monthly online to learn more. Happy listening! Average Rating:![]() |

Love's Secret and Other Songs by American ComposersReviewsI have not received this item yet. It is on back order. I had to rate it so put 3 stars. However sicne it hasn't been received I can't really rate it. You ought to take situations like this into consideration if you're going to do this sort of thing. This CD, a digital remastering of a recording originally released in 1962, is an extraordinary value for anyone interested in American art song, or simply in fine singing. I bought it because I wanted to hear Eleanor Steber's performance of Griffes's "Waikiki", which did not disappoint. But there are many other wonderful songs, all presented with great artistry. They range from the demanding complexity of Barber's "Nuvoletta" and Ives's "General William Booth Enters into Heaven" to the lyricism of the Ernst Bacon songs to texts by Emily Dickinson. The final song on the CD, John McCollum's performance of Henry Cowell's "The Donkey", is especially memorable; I recommend this version over the one on the Albany label's "Songs of Henry Cowell" CD (which I bought because my interest in Cowell's songs was raised by hearing "The Donkey"). The Tiger Woods Story [VHS]ReviewsDisregard the comments below from the negative people as these people are clearly jealous that a black man has been ranked # 1 in golf for 7 out of the last 10 years on the PGA Tour! This man has amassed over a half of billion dollars since he has joined the tour and is revered as a worldwide mentor and super power. Tiger has put his size 12 in the behinds of all naysayers including Jack Nicklaus himself who stated that black people could never advance in the game of game golf. It's funny because white supremesists insist that caucasion people are the supreme race when in fact they are mutated albinos. Golf is a very difficult game to master mentally and physically. Tiger has crushed all of the black inferority theories and proved that the color of your skin means nothing more than that. We are all equal in the eyes of God and should be measured by our good will and love towards others. This movie is great and explains all of Tigers trials and tribulations in his quest to be the most successful golfer ever and bring all races together:-) WHAT MOVIE DID YOU GUYS WATCH!!??? THIS IS A GREAT HEART WARMING MOVIE! GREAT FAMILY MOVIE MOST OF THE TIME! GREAT! 5 STAR MOVIE***** I GUESS WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN OPINION! I LOVE KHALIL KAIN! NICE MOVIE!! I'm writing this review to let the world know that this movie isn't quite as bad as the other reviewers have said. It is definately hokey. With the exception of Keith David playing Earl Woods, the movie is pretty badly acted. It has a very made-for-tv movie quality, which isn't surprising since it was made for Showtime. It does provide a pretty basic insight into Tiger's life up until the '97 masters. Its an easy and light movie to watch. Please note, I didn't shell out any money for this tape - it was just shown on Showtime. I think I wouldn't pay more than $5.00 for this movie. This was not a good movie. I didn't like anything about it and I thought that it would be at least half way decent due to the price. One day I left it in the VCR when I went to work and my wife watched it. When I came home she was laughing histerically. I asked her why, she said the movie was so funny because it was so bad. In the film, Monty isn't even fat, that's how funny it is. If you're rich, like golf, and want a laugh, then get this terrible movie. Otherwise, stay the hell away. Save your money for a hooker in Times Square. LOL. I've never seen a sicker movie. The attempts to act out Tigers life are ill and they would make any golf lover vile. It is dull, boring, terribly fake and laughable. It doesn't even feel right when you watch it. It's as if you're watching bologna. And you'd probably be better off staring at a blank wall.... Monty didn't even have a beer gut or nothing. And his accent was some kind of Pakistany/French! The whole time Faldo's face made it look like his undies were too tight. I'm not kidding, this was one of the worse stinkin movies I've ever seen. And look how much it costs! Average Rating:![]() |

The Plane Truth for Golfers 3 DVD set plus Tips and DrillsReviewsJust one of the many teaching videos on golf. Having read and seen other authors, I feel this is particularly confusing. If you are seeing this as the first lesson on golf, it might be useful. I am a beginner and had learnt a bit from other authors which were easy to follow. I was really confused with this plane truth stuff and tried to find which category I belonged to. Unfortunately, I injured my intercostals and have been laid off for 6 weeks. The author alternates between the two types and so the continuity is lost. He should have had separate continuos lessons in each type of swing which would make it easy to follow. This is the best golf video that I have ever used. His instuction is great and I have adopted the two plane swing for my golf. All of the lessons are explicitly explained with examples. This is the best golf instruction video on the planet. Jim Hardy really is a golf guru and instructor. Jim does a great job in breaking down the advice into practical repeatable movements for the one plane and two plane golf swings. The tips and drills dvd is really good and gives you something to work on at the range. I started hitting the ball better and with better consistency. After not playing golf for almost 30 years, I picked it up again when I retired. I have now been playing for three years and will never threaten the PGA tour with my presence. I wasn't very good then, and I'm still a confirmed duffer. (Index around 20) That aside, after a short time of renewing my golfing career, I took a series of lessons from the local pro. He was very good and very patient, but I just never quite felt comfortable with the swing. Deciding to try something a little different, I purchased Jim Hardy's book "The Plane Truth". It had a lot of ideas that made sense and I decided to change my swing to a flatter plane which he described as the One Plane Swing. As he said, I found that a lot of the tips one picks up were not suited to this swing. They can cause "Disasterous" results in his words. True. I then got the videos to supplement the book and they have been very worthwhile. It was very helpful to actually see the lessons which were described in the book. He covers both swing types, the upright swing (Two Plane) and the flatter swing (One Plane), and you can select the type which fits your body, flexibility and temperament. I've found that I hit the ball much farther than ever and can even hit it straight (usually). All in all, I have been very satisfied in the videos. For a price equal to 2 or 3 lessons with the local pro, they cannot be beat. Jim Hardy's " The Plane Truth for Golfers" is the first instructional guide that I have seen which is easy to follow; easy to understand; has options; and has shown me what I need to do to help my type of swing. Most peoples instructional videos only give one option and that may or may not suit the viewers abilities. Average Rating:![]() |

ManeaterReviews"Maneater" is a made for TV movie about a tiger loose in the woods of Appalachia. The film is highly derivative of earlier films in the genre (notably "Jaws") but is actually better than most of the other comparable films. Understand that this isn't Academy Award fodder, but for a low budget horror movie, it works and is enjoyable to watch. The film begins with several gruesome killings in the woods surrounding a small town. A local vet quickly examines the bite radius of the cast made from a victim's torso as being from a Bengal tiger. If that wasn't enough of a homage to "Jaws", the mayor also pleads that the sheriff not interrupt the "Corn and Apple Fest" due to concerns about the ravenous tiger. Gary Busey plays the sheriff, and exceeded my expectations, though he still has that kooky patina that makes him so interesting to watch. The tiger likes one boy (Ty Wood) who lives in a trailer, and therein begins the weird, mystical tiger-whisperer subplot that runs throughout the movie. Also making a peculiar entrance is Ian D. Clark as a Punjab tiger hunter. This at first struck me as utterly pointless, but actually his performance was one of the true highlights of the movie. Needless to say, the carnage must continue for the film to work, and feeding grist into the mill is the Army National Guard, who show up with an arrogant smirk on their faces that doesn't last long. Aaron Hughes plays Sgt. Howe, and has a terrible accent that detracts from the generally good performances surrounding him. Fear not, his contingent is not part of the story for long. Throughout the film there are numerous confrontations with the press, and by the end I was praying that the Channel 8 Action News reporter could be eaten, preferably in slow motion, two or three times. Like the actual media, she was that annoying. The film concludes with its final homage to "Jaws", an impossible gunshot to a tank of compressed gas. I was extremely amused despite the obvious derivation of the scene. The end of the film ties up several loose ends in a predictable, yet improbable manner, but seeing Gary Busey getting chased by a tiger was worth the price of the DVD by itself! The film is a fine examle of contemporary B-cinema, and is one of the better made for TV creature-run-amok films I have seen; the cat is beautiful, the acting is good, the story is well-paced, and the price is right. What else could you want? A verry disapointing movie, almost no blood, and more disapointing, we see the tiger about 2 minutes. No suspense, don't worth buying. Here's an enjoyable piece of nonsense from the Sci-Fi Channel's "Maneater" series, a modern updating of the classic "Nature Strikes Back" subgenre of horror films. In Maneater, a tiger is loose in the woods surrounding a small community where Gary Busey is sheriff. It goes about hunting and killing and making the townspeople dreadfully uneasy. What's even worse is that the damn tiger is a threat to the success of the annual Apple and Corn Fest. There's also a boy who lives with his religious zealot of a mother that seems to have a kind of friendship with the tiger. It's even hinted that he might have some slight psychic connection with the beast. A British tiger hunter and the National Guard show up to kill the tiger, but since Busey is the star of the film, we're all pretty sure that in the end it'll be him in the final face off with the tiger. I gave this movie a high rating of four stars. It might be a tad too much, but three seemed too low. It's not one you'll be wanting to watch frequently or purchase, but it's good popcorn entertainment. It's got a bit of gore, but this is mostly aftermath stuff like big pools of blood, body parts and eviscerated corpses lying around. Not much as far as actual animal attack scenes go. And they use a real tiger!! No CGI junk here, no sir! It actually looks like an animal instead of a friggin' video game! The cast is decent enough, though the script doesn't ask a lot from them. Busey is his cool, kooky self. He's a bit more "normal", but has a few funny lines here and there. I will say the guy gets creepier looking as he gets older. It's a performance on par with his portrayal of the Gingerdead Man(that was an attempt at humor, but it probably just sounds dumb). No real complaints about the film coz it is what you'd expect a film like this to be, and as long as it meets expectations, it can't really disappoint. My only complaint would be the tiger/child connection. It's unnecessary, cliched and lame. Thankfully is isn't expanded on too much. All in all, a good waste of time. I just bought a puppy tonight and he watched it with me(then peed on my chest), so I guess it'll hold some sentimental value for me. I was very disappointed when I watched this video. The cover suggests great viewing but I never could completely follow the storyline nor understand why the tiger would not eat the little boy. It really tried hard to be a good movie but it just didn't meet my expectations. It's possible that others might find it entertaining. Part of a series of low budget films of animals gone amok that aired on the Sci Fi channel, this film is surprisingly good. For me, the main selling point was that we have an escaped Bengal tiger running amok in Appalachia and fighting with Gary Busey. What more do you need right there, I mean really? Okay, so the plot really isn't all that complicated, essentially being yet another variant on every other 'animals run amok' movie since Jaws. Nonetheless, its quite enjoyable for such a cheesy flick (and they have a real tiger in it!). Ummm... you've got a Bengal tiger. And he escapes and starts picking off people in rural Appalachia. Gary Busey is the sheriff trying to stop it. Media frenzy ensues (complete with some reporter chick named 'Casey Couric,' lol). The army comes to hunt down the tiger, only to get eaten one by one (as highly trained and heavily armed soldiers are appearantly wont to do if movie logic teaches us anything). And a random British big game hunter, inspired by Jim Corbett, shows up to save the day. Overall, its much better than you'd expect from a made for TV 'animal attack of the week' type movie. Sure, its kind of goofy at times. I mean, you could expect as much from the description on the box. But its also a fun movie, especially if its late at night or your just hanging out with your friends and want a straight out animal/monster attack movie. No complex plot, no surpise endings, just a regular animal going on a rampage. And the best part? Its actually the first in a series of such movies... with names like 'Grizzly Rage,' 'Eye of the Beast,' 'Shark Swarm,' and 'Swamp Devil' how can we go wrong? Average Rating:![]() |

The hunter becomes the hunted when the forested shadows of the Appalachian Trail are stalked by a wild animal out of its element hungry and born to ravage. Mike Douglas - Moments & MemoriesReviewsI saw this show on PBS TV and enjoyed it very much. I would definitely be interested in seeing more of the Mike Douglas Shows, as I have always been a big fan. It was about 56 minutes long. I saw an Amazon.com ad that said it was 115 minutes long, so ordered it, expecting to see an expanded version. It was 56 minutes long. There was an option to view an "extra" which merely allowed for viewing clips from the show individually. If you count this as additional video, the total is 112 minutes. This was at the most false advertising and at the least very misleading. I was satisfied with the seller but I bought this item as a christmas present so hopefully all will be ok! Very pleasant compilation of clips from the Mike Douglas Show with reminiscences recorded in 2007 from Mike's wife Gen, Billy Crystal, Bill Cosby, Della Reese, Mariette Hartley and a TV critic. This DVD brings back lots of good memories of when TV talk/variety shows were worth watching. Most of the shows best years and highest ratings were done in Philadelphia 1965-1978 though the DVD fails to make that clear. Wish that the clips were identified by year but they are not. Technical quality shows the amazing evolution of TV technology from 1961 black and white and the relatively new medium of videotape (then just 5 years old) to super sharp broadcast color done in Los Angeles. It's also curious to watch how the show developed from a very low budget local show in Cleveland to a nationally syndicated program shown in 170 markets and watched by at least six million people 5 days a week. Worth buying. I had seen some of this on PBS fundraiser and it brought back memories of coming home from school and watching this with my mother most every day. When I received it I sat down and watched with my own daughter. We enjoyed it so much we watched it twice. My only complaint is that it's too short, an hour was not enough. 20 years of shows, it should've been at least 2 hours. It's a DVD that will definitely get passed around the family I personally enjoyed this DVD. It had a lot of fun clips from various Mike Douglas shows and brief biographical sketches about Mike and his life and career. I especially enjoyed it on a personal level as my Father was a camera man for the Mike Douglas show when it aired on KYW in Cleveland, OH when I was just a kid. I used to visit the studio during a lot of the shows too, so it brought back a lot of memories. I wish I had known this was being put together as I might have been able to contribute some photos from my Dad's photo file. The only thing I wish would have been different is if they had done it in more chronological order rather than skipping around from earlier to later shows and vice-versa. All in all it was entertaining and good to see more of what happened to Mike after he left Cleveland. P.S. - If anyone knows how to get in touch with Mike's wife or there are more clips from the KYW Cleveland shows available please contact me. Average Rating:![]() |

The Ben Hogan CollectionReviewsThe Collection got here quickly and in excellent shape. If I need anything else from this seller, I would defiantly buy from again. Jim This DVD Collection is phenomenal...There is so much miss information about Hogan's golf swing out there...What I love about McLean is that he learned from the guys that actually played with Hogan....this is just a great set of dvds...I recommend this to anyone that loves Ben Hogan or just golf in general..really great stuff! This collection contains some terrific footage of Hogan at various times in his career and some excellent analysis of his swing by Jim McLean. The collection is far from "complete," however. I was disappointed that more footage of interviews with Hogan was not included in the piece on Hogan's life and career. It would also have been nice to see video of Hogan's own attempts to teach important points of the swing. Some of this footage has appeared on YouTube: specifically, the footage of an elegant Hogan talking about the importance of the lower body in the golf swing; the footage from the Ed Sullivan show when Hogan demonstrated his training exercise; and the private footage from Florida when Hogan makes an interesting point about his right-hand grip; but it would have been great to see that footage collected here as well. The video footage is old, sometimes not very clear, but it is good nonetheless. The comments from the main commentator are good, but the guy is not a smooth speaker, perhaps he should have rehearsed more. He does know a lot about golf swing fundamentals. Some of the other commentators had some strange useless comments that should not have made the final cut. One guy that actually was good got cut off too soon; I could tell he had some useful ideas; maybe he has a DVD. This is an excellent companion to Hogan's "5 Lessons" book. Watching Hogan clarifies some things I had misunderstood from reading "5 Lessons". The footage is repeated at normal and slow speeds, which is nice because Hogan had a fast body movement. I am happy with the purchase, and I haven't even got to the software CD yet. ok ok ben was the best... but what is amazing is that his swing is still copied by many golfers... in fact a good swing is out of temporality... and all the guys speaking here add something to this great and respectable man... Ben Hogan... Jim McLean helps to see and to understand his swing... "thanks Jim... another one would have spoiled the mood... you lighten it up !" After viewing the 3 cds, I'm definitely a Ben Hogan fan ! Average Rating:![]() |

Handspring Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Golf Springboard ModuleReviewsThe graphics look good and game-play is smooth, but things quickly get repetitive. I enjoyed my first few rounds, but got bored with it after that with a feeling of 'been there, done that.' Also, the documentation is terrible, meaning that some shot features (such as spin) are apparently in the game but I have no idea how to access them. This is great game, considering that the Visor is not a gaming platform. The option to choose courses and types of play help keep this game interesting and fresh. The only problem I had with this game was the way you have to 'drag' your way around the course. The animations of Tiger swinging and putting are very good, as are easy controls and varying of courses. However, be aware that when aiming your shot down a fairway, you have to "drag" the course along with your stylus. when i got really into the game, i realised that i was making scratches across my visor's screen. Just be careful... The graphics on this game are quite incredible considering that it runs off of a handheld device not created with games in mind. That said, this is a great game if you have time to kill. The ability to choose from 3 types of play and 3 courses adds to the re-playability factor. This game is great, addictive fun for the Handspring. I loved the way it uses no RAM and is small and takes up no extra room! The game is fun though you have to expect it to be small in vision but still, if you're looking for enjoyment this is what you want. Average Rating:![]() |
