Boston Red Sox Garden Gnome Boston Red Sox Garden Gnome

Got a lot of laughs and smiles at Christmas time! The one I bought even made a trip to the east coast to adorn the home of my favorite Boston fan. Seems to be well made and durable.

I got this for a neighbor who is a Red Sox fan. He was surprised and loved it. They are a very sturdy item.

I placed the order and received it within a few days. It was priced fairly and well packed and arrived in excellent condition. I would do business with that company again.

I got this for my husband for Christmas... it is so cute... he will just love it!

If you are a Sox fan, this is a great accessory for the garden! My son loves to move it around to different places in our yard.

It was a great sign but it arrived dented but I gave it as a Christmas gift anyway because of the time factor.

This product came and I was amazed at how nice it was! For the price I thought that it might be a little under quality, but it was not at all! Great product for those Red Sox fans!

Tessie Tessie

Reviews

I'm not a Red Sox fan. My team is the world champion Phillies. But, because I am a baseball fan, I saw the CD and bought it. I love it! Celtic band with a big beat. I wish the Phillies had a song like "Tessie." I listen to it over and over.

This is the second Dropkick Murphy album I've purchased, and good things do come in small packages.I bought it because of their amazing version of"The Fields of Althenry"'but was blown away by "Tessie".Heck,I might even become a Red Sox fan.A short C.D.,but it has no weak spots, and just when you are taking it all to seriously, along comes Tessie in clean up to finish the album.Just long enough for the ride home from work, and well worth the time spent.

Ok, I dont own the CD but it is on MVP Baseball 2005. I must say that it is one of the best songs on the soundtrack. I'm no fan of punk rock or nothing, but this song is now one of my favourites.

I really liked this cd! I hadn't listened to this group before, so this was a test purchase. I will be buying more. The Dropkick Murphys have such a unique sound that I find very appealing.

The only song worth listening to on the whole CD was the version of "Tessie" which included the members of the Red Sox. The guys of Dropkick Murphys sounded like they were trying to be cool and 'In' and they just weren't.

Team Baby: Red Sox Baby Team Baby: Red Sox Baby

My 4 month old loved it and so did his dad! They can watch it together and root for their favorite team.

I thought this movie would be a little more about baseball. It models a lot of the Baby Eienstien videos and shows colors and sounds that you would find at Fenway Park and shows babies and toddlers playing in Red Sox clothes. My son is two and gets bored with it very quickly, maybe it is Ben Affleck's voice which is very melodramatic the whole time, but it was entertaing only the first time he watched it.

Let me start by saying that I am not only a lifelong Red Sox fan, but also a third generation fan. I got this dvd for my nephews hoping to share that love since they live several thousand miles from Fenway. As far as baby/toddler videos go, it's not all that exciting. My older nephew felt there was neither enough singing nor enough animals... And, he was REALLY disappointed that the big green monster wasn't an actual monter. (I guess he was expecting a relative of Elmo's?)

Haven't watched it, bought it for 3 grandsons but........why is there a large photo of a boy on the front and a small token photo of a girl on the back? Not good marketing.

Actually, I was hoping the review below by Rohosky would direct me to a site to purchase "Team Baby: Yankees Baby." Then I could learn how to build a family by grossly outbidding other parents for the best available babies on the market, then berate them publicly and cast them aside when they don't live up to my standards; learn the proper way to raise a strong, healthy baby through steroids; raise a well-behaved child by removing any semblance of his/her personality; and teach the child how to swear like a sailor in front of other children. Please let me know when this DVD becomes available. P.S. My favorite part of Rohosky's review is that he labels himself a "sophisticated tv veiwer"...and misspells "viewer." P.S.S. Kids in pinstripes look like they're ready for a walk in the prison yard. You don't want that. Buy this DVD and a Sox jersey and at least your kid will look good in red, white, and blue.

Being a Red sox fan I love this sports Documentery. I think it captures the 2004 season perfectly from spring training to the last game of the world series. All I can say is that I hope Arod sees himself slapping the ball out of Bronson Arroyo's glove, and how foolish and laydylike it looks.

1975 World Series - Cincinnati Reds vs Boston Red Sox [VHS] 1975 World Series - Cincinnati Reds vs Boston Red Sox [VHS]

Reviews

This '75 Red Sox team was a great team that was peaking at the end of the year. They swept the A's in the playoffs and played brilliantly in the World Series. It's just too bad for Boston they were up against one of the great baseball teams of all-time (if not the best ever)...the Big Red Machine from Cincinnati. Loaded with talent, the Reds had the most balanced attack in history. They hit for power- led by Bench, Perez, and Foster. They hit for average- led by Rose, Griffey, and Morgan. They had unstoppable speed- led by Morgan, Griffey, Concepcion and Geronimo. And they had the best defense- gold glovers Geronimo, Morgan, Concepcion and Bench. The video highlights a series that wasn't just dramatic, but played so well. Few errors and outstanding defense. Great hitting and great clutch pitching. The '75 series is so much more than the Fisk home run. It was really an exhibition of star players performing at their very best.

For many people, the defining moment of the 1975 World Series was Carlton Fisk's dramatic, series-tying, sudden-death home run off the foul pole at Fenway Park in Game 6. Was Fisk's homer a great moment in baseball history? You're dang straight it was. But for me (a Reds' fan), the defining moments of the '75 Series came in Game 7, when the Cincinnati Reds pulled out a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the Sox to win their first World Series title in 35 years. Those defining moments being -- Joe Morgan's Texas-League single that fell in front of Fred Lynn, scoring the winning run for Cincinnati. .... And the image of Reds' outfielder Cesar Geronimo squeezing Carl Yastrzemski's fly ball in center field for the final out of the Series. The Reds had been denied World Series crowns twice previously in the 1970s (losing to Baltimore in 1970 and again to Oakland in '72). So the Big Red Machine was no doubt very hungry for this '75 title. Pete Rose led the Reds' hitting assault in the '75 Series, going 10-for-27 (.370) in the 7 games versus Boston, plus 5 walks. This solid performance earned the Cincy third sacker Series MVP honors. Tony Perez managed to swat 3 home runs in the Series, but only batted .179. Next to Rose, Cesar Geronimo had the best overall stats for a Reds' hitter, with a .280 average, 2 homers, and 3 RBIs. On the Red Sox' side of the ledger, Carl Yastrzemski had an excellent final World Series of his career (.310 / 9 hits / 7 runs / 4 RBI). While reserve Bernie Carbo, who was with the Reds when they went to the 1970 Series against the Orioles, provided some mighty punch off the bench (.429 in 4 games, with 2 HR / 4 RBI). The Reds wrapped up their 7th-game win on October 22nd, 1975, which, ironically, was exactly three years to the day after Cincy's seventh-game loss to Oakland in '72. Joe Garagiola provides the narration for this Official MLB Productions home-video product. Video is in Full-Frame (1.33:1); audio is in Hi-Fi Mono; run time is about 37 minutes. All those great highlights from that incredible Game 6 are here --- Evans' leaping catch at the fence, Foster's throw home that kept the game tied, Carbo's three-run blast in the 8th to tie the game @ 6-6, and, of course, Fisk's pleading with the baseball to stay fair in the 12th inning. What a game that was. If you want to re-live one of the greatest World Series ever played, just pop in this videocassette from Major League Baseball Home Video.

The Boston Red Sox won the best game in the history of the World Series but unfortunately that was in Game 6 and not Game 7 and the Cincinnati Reds ended up winning the first of two consecutive titles in 1975. Of course, now we know that because they sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees the Curse of the Bambino fates the Bosox to lose any World Series in which they play in seven games. The Big Red Machine had won 108 games during the regular season and swept the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Championship series and then promptly ran into Luis Tiant who pitched a five hit shutout in Game 1. The question then became how often Boston could pitch Tiant, which ended up being not often enough. The Reds came up with a pair of runs in the ninth inning to pull out a 3-2 victory in Game 2 and the drama was on.It goes without saying that everybody remembers Carlton Fisk's home run to win the epic Game 6, but there was other drama in this series involving the Boston catcher, namely the wild throw he made in Game 3 after getting tangled with Cincinnati pinch-hitter Ed Armbrister during an attempted sacrifice bunt that led to the winning run. Tiant pitched another complete game and Tony Perez hit a pair of home runs as the Red Sox and Reds split the next two games to send the series back to Boston. Watching the highlights of Game 6 only confirms what we already know about how great of a game this was; but did you know that the only reason the television camera stayed on Fisk when he hit his ball down the left field foul line in the 12th inning and urged the ball to stay fair was that a giant rat inside the Green Monster kept the cameraman from following the flight of the ball? Instead we got to see Fisk's frantic gyrations and the "reaction shot" was born in the wonderful wide world of sports broadcasting. Eventually, after a couple of days of rain cooled off everybody, they finally played Game 7, and the finale was a pretty good baseball game in its all right. The Red Sox took a 3-0 lead but the Reds came back to tie the game in the 7th inning and once again a game in the 1975 World Series was decided in the final inning. This explains why relief pitchers got credit for three of the Big Red Machine's four wins. What more could you ask for? (this question only applies to those who are not Boston Red Sox fans). Pete Rose led all batters with a .370 average and was named Series MVP. Of course, nobody remembers anything he did in the series, all because of that Fisk fellow.

My favorite part was in the 2nd game, Carl Glencross through out the 1st ball in the series with Henry Kissenger and others from the US Navy who were there to celebrate the Navy's 200th anniversary. It was a super game, rain and all!

The Series featured Carlton Fisks dramatic 12th inning dinger. But the series had a lot more excitement. Joe Garagiola narrates, and the corny sound effects of the ball being hit, sound funny. The whole series was filmed with real movie film, none of this video tape junk. The grainess of film gives it a ghostly feel of a era gone past. The fans really were the winners of this Series. You will be too at such a niffty price. If you watch only once world series this october, make it the 1975 world series!!

I love the movie, but it (the DVD) is defective. I didn't bother to return it because it seems too much trouble for the amount of money involved.

Okay, okay, FEVER PITCH is a romcom, but when the backdrop is the greatest game ever invented I'm on board and intent. And being a long-suffering Cubs fan I readily identify with Jimmy Fallon's character's lustful addiction to his beloved Red Sox. When baseball is the focal point of existence winter is merely a hiatus; I so get that. Anyways, the stars must have been in perfect alignment for the Farrelly brothers as they filmed Fallon and a very scrumptious Drew Barrymore in character at the immortal Fenway at the same time the BoSox made their improbable postseason run into magical history. It's yet another dimension making this movie so much fun. Barrymore and Fallon play well off one another; Barrymore as a career-oriented workaholic, Fallon as a teacher by day and baseball junkie by night. When a spark between the two ensues, it is Fallon's character who suddenly realizes there's more to life--much, much more--than baseball. The romance has its predictable ups and downs, then its breakup, then its dramatic makeup; yet even though the viewer knows exactly what's going to happen FEVER PITCH is still grand fun due to its BoSox enhancement. Plus the scene showing Fallon and his buds deciding who gets which of the rare allotment of season tickets had me rolling on the floor; heck, Fallon is given a plethora of great one-liners that he delivers with tongue-in-cheek chutzpah. Yeah, FEVER PITCH is a romcom, but it's a baseball romcom. Which makes it a winner on my scoreboard. --D. Mikels, Author, Walk-On

I love this movie, and I am a BIG YANKEE'S FAN - but I remember when the Red Sox's finally won, I celebrated with them, because no team had such bad fortune with baseball as much as they did. Jimmy Fallon acting was surprising good and of course Drew's was exceptional as usual.

Movie was like new. Packaging not damaged. The review said like new and it was.

I think it's fair to say every Red Sox fan has seen this movie. And i think it's fair to say in New England every knows where they were the night the Sox finally won it. I certainly do!!! Not to go into detail, you can read hundreds of the other reviews for details and plots. This is a nice, sweet, funny, love story, made by two New Englanders, who love the Sox for better or worse. This is a perfect movie to watch with your sweetheart if you don't want to watch a movie like The Notebook or those other thousands of rom/coms. Cause it has baseball, guys like baseball, haha. The movie appeals to both sexes.

The Farrelly brothers continue their good-natured winning streak with Fever Pitch, a romantic comedy charmed by fate and last-minute improvisation. The movie was originally written with a bittersweet ending, but something unexpected happened (kismet, or perhaps divine intervention?) when the Boston Red Sox scored miraculous victories in the 2004 playoffs and World Series, and Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon were there, in character, to celebrate love and baseball as a pair of amiable lovers who learn to share their lives while accommodating Fallon's life-long passion for the Red Sox...

I really don't know how to describe this. Wonderful? Miraculous? The best thing since sliced bread, nay, the best thing including sliced bread. As an amateur St. Louis Browns fan, I have long aspired to see the classic 1944 World Series, but how???? Well baseball has an idea. Let's put every World Series since 1943 on DVD (minus the horrific 2009 World Series, which we shall not discuss). Also let's put it in a sweet tabletop book with pictures of classic World Series moments. If you don't like this, I probably won't like you. I give it my fullest endorsement, or my name isn't James.

This was a great buy for me. I am very interested in baseball history, so seeing highlights of things I have already read about was great. If you are a fan of baseball history, this is a great product to purchase.

Does it really matter if there's editing? You people who are complaining about it, you already have the Yankee box set with those films anyways, so why is it such a concern for you? If you're doing it to warn people, if they haven't seen the unedited ones, then it wouldn;t matter to them either cause they wouldn't have noticed it anyways, like myself! It's 49.5 hours!! What more do you want!? This is the greatest box set that MLB has ever come out with! 5 stars aren't enough!

Several of the World Series included on this set are edited from their original versions. The 1950 WS is missing 9 minutes and the 1961 Series is missing 14 minutes of content. This was by comparing them to the earier released Yankees World Series DVD set. Can not atest to the non-Yankees world series but these discs are edited.

I just got this set and began watching some of the oldest films, which I enjoyed. Since I had the Yankee set of 13 films I skipped those, but just to make sure it was OK I popped in the 1949-1953 disk. While watching the 1953 film I decided to watch Mantle's grand slam. To my surprise, they showed the bases being loaded, showed Russ Meyer come to the mound and then suddenly went to the next inning. I fast forwarded to the end and lo and behold they didn't show Billy Martin's game 6 game and series winning hit, just jumped to the end of the film wrapup. So I got out my Yankee set and began comparing timings series by series. Well, folks, in order to cram as many as 6 films on a disk A&E, the producer of both sets, heavily edited many of the films. Remember, these are only the ones I can verify, the Yankee victories. 1943 is missing 21 seconds. 1947 has no difference. 1949 is missing 11 seconds. 1950 is missing over 9 minutes. 1951 has no difference. 1952 is missing 21 seconds. 1953 is missing 1 1/2 minutes. 1956 has no difference. 1958 is missing 1/2 minute. 1961 is missing 14 minutes. 1962 is missing almost 16 minutes. From 1977 on there seems to be nothing missing. But it's obvious that somebody at A&E made some very arbitrary decisions about what was "interesting" and what wasn't. I can only assume that other films from the 40's through the 60's were similarly chopped. I'm not very happy about this product being advertised as the definitive collection when so much footage is gone. The book is nice, and it's still valuable to have all of the available Series is one place to the extent they're there. But I'm not as pleased as I should be.

Great seller! Delivered as promised. Would certainly use this seller again! Thank you!

It's an excellent set for a Sox fan to relive their run to the championship. The only thing I wish MLB would do is what the NBA and NHL do is release the champions conferance final series as well complete. I wish MLB had continued what they done in 2004. Also wish they included game 2 of the ALDS featuring Manny Ramirez game winning three run home run.

OK, so maybe they could have put more in about the sweep of Anaheim, and maybe (OK, probably) they could have included a clip of the Mothers Day Miracle in the bonus DVD, but this set ROCKS! What's not to like about the 3rd WS victory for the Bosox in 4 years? What's not to like about being able to fast-forward through Joe Buck and Tim (bad hair-dye job) McCarver every game? And what's not to like about them throwing in games 5-7 of the ALCS, where the Sox came back and just demolished the Indians, who actually thought they had a chance to win. Go Sox!!!

This is not a bad set. However, there no direction or choice for the radio announcers vs. the Fox announcers (who no self-respecting Red Sox fan can stand). I'm pretty savvy with stuff like this, but can't find it anywhere. Can anyone out there help?

This is just as advertised. My only regrets are that they don't show ALL of Clay's no-hitter nor do they show all of the ALCS/ALDS. But they do state that in the product information.
